The Music of Richard Rodgers
A Noteworthy Experiment
I'm going to try something here
that might work to enhance your enjoyment of the Rodgers tunes if you want
to do a little bit of work on the thing for yourself. Once....the Noteworthy
Software people had a plugin which worked with your browser to show you
the tune and the words of a song as it played for your listening pleasure,
and Microsoft spoiled that for most people by eliminating the use of any
plugins but their own. For a while you could still use a Netscape browser,
and today you can use Opera or Mozilla, but not new versions of Netscape
nor Internet Explorer. So, what can you now do to make it so you can follow
the "bouncing ball" and see the tunes play as well as hear them. It's not
brain surgery; it's not rocket science; but it requires you to know something
about your computer and do some things to effect this result.
1. go to Noteworthy
Software on the web and get the FREE player by downloading the setup
file and installing it somewhere on your computer that you can find it
and use it.
2. Download individual .nwc
song files by clicking on the below list of Richard Rodgers tunes. Hopefully
your browser will ask you what to do with the file you choose, and you
will have to reply that you want to open it in an application you instruct
it to use, and then you find the above player application (as above noted)
which will be the exe file named NWC2View.exe. Oh, and also tell the browser
ALWAYS to open .nwc files in that application, and you ought to be done.
3. None of the above will affect
the way your computer or browser operates in any other situation.
